LevelBlue has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Aon’s cybersecurity and intellectual property (IP) litigation consulting groups in a move that significantly broadens its cyber risk management services.
The acquisition includes cybersecurity firm Stroz Friedberg and Elysium Digital, which specialise in technology-related IP litigation, and will add around 300 technology professionals to LevelBlue’s team.
The deal will enhance LevelBlue’s 24/7 managed detection and response services, creating what the company describes as a comprehensive cybersecurity risk management platform that combines digital risk protection with incident response.
LevelBlue aims to become the largest independent pure-play managed security services provider globally following the acquisition.
“Cyber resilience is crucial for organisations of all sizes,” says Robert McCullen, chairman and CEO of LevelBlue.
He adds: “By combining LevelBlue’s exceptional cloud-based, AI-driven managed detection and response platform with Stroz Friedberg’s proactive cyber consulting and advanced digital forensic and incident response capabilities, we are introducing the industry’s most comprehensive unified cybersecurity services platform.”
Mike Troiano, LevelBlue board member and head of AT&T business products, states: “The incredible cybersecurity readiness and response capabilities of Aon’s cybersecurity consulting group, including the esteemed heritage of the Stroz Friedberg legacy, brings highly valued expertise to LevelBlue.”
While Aon is divesting these consulting groups, it will continue to provide cyber brokerage services through its Cyber Solutions group, CyQu platform and Cyber Risk Analyzer.
“Cyber remains a top risk category for our clients,” says Christian Hoffman, global specialty and financial products leader at Aon.
