Tokio Marine HCC (TMHCC) has appointed Elizabeth Geary to the newly created role of president and CEO of its North America property and casualty (P&C) business.
Based in New York, she will report directly to Susan Rivera, CEO of TMHCC.
She joins TMHCC from Liberty Mutual, where she was president of Insurance Solutions, overseeing the development of a new platform focused on cyber, energy transition and alternative risk.
Earlier in her career, Geary spent more than a decade at TransRe, holding a range of senior underwriting roles, including global head of cyber, chief underwriting officer for North America, and president of global portfolio management.
The appointment follows the promotion of Barry Cook to deputy CEO of TMHCC in May, as part of a broader reshaping of its leadership team.
Rivera says the move reflects the company’s strategy to bring in experienced leaders who can drive growth across specialist markets.
“Her talent and track record of underwriting acumen, product strategy, and leadership are exceptional,” Rivera notes.
“As TMHCC continues to expand and evolve, driven by our commitment to enhancing our offerings to reflect the needs of insureds in a rapidly changing risk environment, we will need to attract the leading talent in the market who share our specialised focus and approach.”
Geary adds: “TMHCC is known for its long-term commitment to markets, underwriting excellence, and top-notch financial strength.
“I look forward to helping the business realise its profitable growth ambitions in North America while providing market-leading solutions for our brokers and insureds.”
