Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has appointed Neil Nimmo as CEO for the UK, in the latest move to expand its leadership team as part of its global growth strategy.
Founded by Warren Downey and Lee Anderson in 2019, SRG has grown rapidly with the backing of Warburg Pincus and Temasek.
The appointment of a UK CEO follows the recent hiring of Collin Yap as CEO for Asia Pacific in 2024. SRG now generates more than £250 million in revenue and employs over 1,500 staff, with half of its workforce based outside the UK.
Nimmo brings significant industry experience to the role, having previously served as CEO and chairman of Lockton, where he led the firm’s growth and international expansion over a 17-year tenure.
The company says his expertise in organic growth, team leadership, and execution is expected to support SRG’s ambitions to scale its retail, wholesale, and underwriting operations in the UK.
Nimmo will join both the SRG operating board and group executive committee, subject to regulatory approvals.
Commenting on the appointment, group CEO Warren Downey says: “We are delighted to welcome Neil to SRG. His leadership style, values and outstanding reputation make him an ideal fit for our business.
“Neil’s decision to join us is a strong endorsement of our strategy and a reflection of the unique platform we are building at SRG.”
Nimmo adds: “I am incredibly excited to be joining SRG at such an exciting point in its journey. From the outside, it has been impossible to ignore the energy, clarity of purpose and ambition that SRG brings to the market.”
