BPS promotes David Ward as firms youngest partner

Bauknight Pietras & Stormer (BPS) has appointed David Ward to its leadership team as a partner, effective 1 January 2021.

Ward, who joined BPS in 2006, has served in various roles including lead audit professional on the firm’s property and casualty (P&C) insurance team.

The P&C team focuses on regional and national commercial carriers, mutual insurers, captive insurance, reciprocals, and risk retention group domiciled throughout the US.

Ward consults on a national basis with clients considering establishing captive insurance companies on the issues of feasibility, formation, operations, and governance.

He is a member of the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association (SCCIA), North Carolina Captive Insurance Association and Vermont Captive Insurance Association.

In addition, he chairs the education committee for the SCCIA and coordinates its captive academy.

Commenting on the announcement, Russell Bauknight BPS managing shareholder, said: “We’re pleased to start 2021 by welcoming Ward as a partner. One of BPS’ goals is to grow our own talent by hiring smart and investing in professional development. So it was very gratifying to have Ward ascend to the firm’s leadership team.”

He added: “Since joining BPS, he’s focused on building an industry-leading knowledge base in property and casualty insurance, which in turn contributed to BPS’ growth. He’s an asset to our clients, the firm, and younger team members who also want to grow their careers with BPS.”
