KBRA hires Carol Pierce for director of insurance role

Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) has named Carol Pierce as the new director of the agency’s insurance group, focusing on captives, reinsurers and alternative capital providers.

Previously, Pierce worked at Munich Reinsurance America, where she was responsible for market, competitor and client analysis for the specialty-markets division and most recently the reinsurance division.

She has also served at A.M. Best, where she managed the team in charge for expanding ratings for captive insurers.

Pierce is a former member of the board of directors of the Vermont Captive Insurance Association and the International Center for Captive Insurance Education, as well as an active member of the Captive Insurance Company Association.

Andrew Edelsberg, managing director in the insurance group at KBRA, said: “We are excited to have Carol Pierce on our analytic team. Her unique expertise, keen understanding of the alternative risk market, overall industry knowledge, and analytic skillset are tremendous assets to our credit-ratings team as well as the markets we serve.”
