DOXA has acquired Jupiter Underwriting Group, a Florida-based managing general agent (MGA) that specialises in admitted umbrella and follow-form excess liability.
The move aligns with the 2026 growth strategy for DOXA, as the organisation seeks to expand its resources in the specialty casualty space while continuing to invest across its broader portfolio.
Founded in 2019 by David Folkes and Dennis Burton, Jupiter focuses on underwriting complex risks across various sectors, including contractors, hospitality, real estate, and oil and gas specialty contractors. The MGA currently represents an AM Best ‘A’ rated insurance carrier.
Kevin Wall, president of DOXA, says: “The hard work, discipline and dedication that David and Dennis have put into building the Jupiter Underwriting Group are the exact characteristics we look for in partners”.
Wall adds: “The Jupiter Underwriting Group is recognised as a high-quality platform with a differentiated approach in excess liability and we’re thrilled to welcome their team to DOXA to support our rapid expansion”.
Following the acquisition, Folkes and Burton, who possess a combined 60 years of insurance industry experience, will remain in their leadership positions at Jupiter and provide strategic support.
David Folkes, managing partner of Jupiter, comments: “DOXA stood out as a partner that not only brings capital, but a clear understanding of how to grow specialty businesses the right way. Their platform, relationships, and shared mindset around disciplined growth made this a natural fit”.
DOXA operates as a specialty insurance platform that acquires niche-market focused underwriting and program distribution companies. The organisation delivers centralised sales, marketing, and operational support to help its partners maximise growth potential.
As part of this platform, Caitlin Morgan Captive Management offers various captive solutions for businesses seeking full control, shared risk, or a strategic entry into the captive space.
