Risk Strategies Company acquires reinsurance specialist

Risk Strategies Company has expanded its reinsurance and healthcare business with the acquisition of Re-Solutions Intermediaries.

Re-Solutions, a reinsurance specialist focused on assisting healthcare organisations around the world to manage risk, is headquartered in Minneapolis and was founded by president Tony Plampton.

Re-Solutions provides analytics, consulting and creative reinsurance solutions for the health, accident, life and disability insurance industries. The firm will be established as a new division under Risk Strategies’s national healthcare practice.

Bob Dubraski, senior managing director of Risk Strategies and leader of its national healthcare practice, commented: “Plampton and his team have created a firm with expertise that complement our overall efforts in addressing every risk management facet in the healthcare industry.”

"Re-Solutions's exclusive focus on reinsurance in healthcare and personalised approach to client service makes it a perfect fit with Risk Strategies as we work toward building the best all-lines healthcare industry broker in the country."

In addition, Risk Strategies recently appointed Alan Harder as vice president to its Chicago office.

Harder joined a week after Risk Strategies acquired M.G. Welbel Associates, a professional liability insurance specialty broker, headquartered in Northbrook, Illinois.

Michael Welbel, president of M.G. Welbel and Associates, said: “Joining Risk Strategies creates an organisation with expertise in the Midwest region and gives clients access to more carriers, better programmes and new ways of cost-effectively managing their risk.”
