Crowell & Moring appoints insurance duo

Crowell & Moring has appointed John Sarchio as partner and Richard Liskov as senior counsel to the company’s insurance, reinsurance and corporate groups, based in the New York office.

Sarchio has worked on a range of client matters including mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, insurance-linked securities and financings, reinsurance transactions, self-insurance and captive programmes, and regulatory consulting and compliance.

Liskov has experience representing insurers, reinsurers, producers, and financial institutions in insurance regulatory and transactional matters.

Both lawyers join from Dentons LLP.

Glen McGorty, the firm's New York managing partner, commented: "Insurance is one of the pillars of Crowell & Moring's New York office. With the arrival of John Sarchio and Richard Liskov—unquestioned leaders in their field—we will be able to take on even more sophisticated corporate and commercial transactions for insurance and reinsurance industry clients."

Sarchio said: "Our experience in the insurance regulatory and transactional space complements the firm's existing insurance industry practice and provides added transaction-related depth to the larger corporate practice in New York and throughout the firm."
