S&P reaffirms IGI ratings

Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services (S&P) has reaffirmed the “A-“ insurer financial strength on International General Insurance Company’s (IGI) Bermuda and UK operations.

In March 2015, S&P upgraded the group’s financial strength ratings to “A-“ from “BBB+” after IGI outperformed the ratings agency’s expectations in 2014.

According to the ratings company, both IGI Bermuda and IGI UK are “core operating companies” within the IGI Group.

Wasef Jabsheh, CEO of IGI, commented: “We are delighted to have our rating reaffirmed. It reflects our strong results, prudent management and the disciplined underwriting that underpins the company’s success.”
