Senior management shuffle at Jardine Lloyd Thompson

Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group has made senior appointment changes in its UK employee benefits business and JLT Asia, affecting the roles of Mark Wood, Duncan Howorth, Dominic Samengo-Turner, Ian Robinson and Warren Downey.

The appointments are subject to obtaining the appropriate regulatory approvals, where required.

Wood is retiring from his role as CEO of JLT’s UK employee benefits business and will be leaving the group at the end of May 2015.

Howorth is returning to the UK after spending two years as CEO of JLT Asia, to take up the position of CEO of JLT’s UK employee benefits business, which will become effective from 1 June 2015.

He will continue in his role as the international chairman of employee benefits.

Samengo-Turner will join JLT Asia as CEO, starting from 1 May 2015. He has previously served at Willis, most recently as co-chief executive of global specialities and as director of Willis Limited.

Robinson, currently the COO of JLT Asia, is joining Thistle Insurance Services as COO, with effect from 1 July 2015.

Downey, who is currently CEO of JLT Specialty’s regional risk practice and trading division, has been promoted to deputy CEO and COO of JLT Asia, effective from 1 May 2015 and 1 July 2015 respectively.

Dominic Burke, JLT Group CEO, commented: “I would like to thank Wood on behalf of the group for the key role he has played in the very strong progress of our UK employee benefits business.”

He added: “These changes mark another important step in JLT’s growth and development, and indicate both the depth of talent within the organisation and our continued ability to attract some of the best people in the industry to join us and help drive our continued growth and momentum.”
