CICA announces 2014 conference programme

The Captive Insurance Companies Association has announced the conference line-up for the CICA 2014 International Conference in March, held in Scottsdale, Arizona.

This year’s theme “Captives: Global Opportunities and Solutions” reflects the rapidly changing nature of the captive industry.

Dennis Harwick, CICA president, said: “Events of recent years have taught us that we live in a connected world. Every captive will be affected by what happens outside their domicile, whether it is something that the NAIC does or even what the OECD in Paris does, so we have designed a programme that will help you do your job at home while understanding global opportunities and solutions.”

The CICA international conference program opens on Monday, March 10with a keynote address “The O’Shea Report” by Tim and Kris O’Shea. The O’Shea’s session on handling the ups and downs of the fast-paced constantly changing world will entertain and set the stage for conference participants to focus on global strategies.

Sessions in the programme will cover the economic and insurance market outlook for 2014 and beyond, the best captive practices for 831(b)s, employee benefits for an international business and captive governance from cradle to grave.

CICA’s conference programme and trade show aims to draws a diverse range of captive owners, potential captive owners, captive managers, risk managers, domicile regulators and service providers. Key decision makers from the captive owners attend, along with many people who are just beginning the process of forming a captive.
