SC names Branum director of captives

The South Carolina Department of Insurance has hired William Branum as director of captives.

Branum brings a wealth of experience to the role having previously worked as an attorney, and senior executive of Munich Re Group.

Most recently, Branum served as managing director of Munich-American Risk Partners based in London.

Ray Farmer, director of the South Carolina Department of Insurance, said: “A long-time proponent of properly structured and utilised captives, Branum’s knowledge and expertise will be an asset to the department as we work to make South Carolina the onshore domicile of choice. He will be a convincing advocate for our progressive, business friendly approach.”
